Your family session is so much more than a photo session, it is an experience. From the beginning of your session to the end, I will help you with all the major decisions along the way, from clothing choices to the location. I want this to be stress-free experience, I want your family to enjoy the process of documenting your cherished moments and years from now, when you look back at your session, I want you to remember the real, authentic memories we captured together!

Scheduling your family photography session
We’ll start with a pre-session consult and decide on a date for your session. We will also discuss your hopes for the session. We will talk about the look and feel that you want for your session as well I would love to learn about your family, I want to know your story! Did you grow up on a farm or in the city? How did you and your spouse meet? What are your family interests? Do you like going to the lake on the weekend? Do you enjoy skiing in the winter or dirt biking in the summer? Did your daughter just take her first steps? What kind of portraits make you smile? I want to design an experience that truly captures who your family is! As we get to know each other, we will cover some of the basics like location choices and wardrobe selection. Your session fee will formally book your session spot. So once this is paid then we can discuss all the details!
On the day of your sessions, if possible, I encourage you to spend time together so when you arrive at your session it is the last stop to a wonderful day of memories spent as a family. The session will be lighthearted and fun with both candid and posed portraits. We will relax, get to know each other, laugh, explore and play. There will be more then enough time at the session to capture a variety of images and If children aren’t cooperating, it’s okay, don’t stress. Sometimes best portraits are when I am following your child around in their element and allowing them to be them, those moments can lead to the most beautiful images.

Your Art
Your family portrait session is only the beginning of creating these timeless portraits. Following your session, we will spend numerous hours choosing the top images from your session and post-processing those images to display in your gallery. We want you to truly love your custom portraits and as you’ll see each image is hand edited into a work of art.
Your gorgeous gallery of hand-edited portraits will be ready within 2-3 weeks after your session. At this time you will be welcomed back to the studio for your reveal session. This is by far my favorite time, I love being able to see your emotions for the first time when you view your gallery! At the reveal session, I will want to know what you hope to do with your portraits following your session. Too often families will do their yearly portrait session, receive their digital files and then post their favorites on Facebook or leave them on their computer, never printing their portraits to enjoy and display in their homes! During the reveal session you are welcome to provide us with images of your wall space and together we can create the perfect display for your home. We offer a lovely selection of fine art prints, gallery wraps, heirloom portrait boxes, archival digitals and keepsake albums for a beautiful presentation of your memories.
Typical client investment into wall art and digital portraits is $700-$2000
The Investment
Session Fee
The session fee formally books your portrait appointment and is due upon reserving your session. The session fee covers the photographer’s time and talent, session post-processing and an in-person viewing session or online gallery of your images. Session Fees do not include any prints or digital files.
